Inter Milan soon completed the sale of 21 year-old Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic to Real Madrid. The legendary former Inter defender Giuseppe Bergomi supports Nerazzurri step.

According Bergomi, sell Kovacic can be regarded as the right decision.

"From a financial point of view, this is something that is very important for Inter. I think he (Kovacic) was never able to put out 100 percent of his ability at Inter," Bergomi said as quoted by Football Italia.

"He never found the ideal position, both in the era of Andrea Stramaccioni, Walter Mazzarri to Roberto Mancini. I think selling it is keuputusan right," he added.

Kovacic transfer value to Madrid reportedly reached € 35 million. The Santiago Bernabeu, Kovacic will receive a salary of € 3 million per year plus bonuses.
